No. We welcome everyone from complete beginners to seasoned photographers. Every expedition travels with a host photographer who works alongside you in the field — light, positioning, and knowing when to wait. The camera is just a tool; the real work happens in learning to look.

Conservation shapes how we plan and how we travel: small groups, no shared access, and local guides who know the individual animals. Selected expeditions contribute directly to conservation projects in the regions we visit — the Pantanal expedition supports Jaguar ID. The Solara Conservation Foundation is currently in formation.

This differs per expedition, so the full list is on each expedition page under What's Included. In general: accommodation, most meals, ground transport, park and permit fees, and expert local guiding. International flights, travel insurance, a €35 booking fee per booking and the €9 GGTO contribution per person are not included.

All cancellations must be made in writing. More than 90 days before departure, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. Between 60 and 90 days, 50% of the total is due. Between 30 and 60 days, 75%. Less than 30 days before departure, the full amount is due. This is why comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation is required for every Solara expedition. Full terms apply. Each expedition has a minimum group size, stated on the expedition page. If that number is not reached, we will let you know in good time and you can choose between a full refund or transfer to a future expedition.
